Westmead Biobank is proud to partner with CPG to support OurDNA

Westmead Biobank is proud to partner with the Centre for Population Genomics (CPG) (a not-for-profit initiative established by the Garvan Institute of Medical Research (Sydney) and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (Melbourne) - https://lnkd.in/dSGSTxaW) to support OurDNA - a national initiative working to build more inclusive genomic datasets by engaging underrepresented communities across Australia (https://ourdna.org.au/).

As an NSW Health Pathology Biobank Certification-certified facility, we provide centralised biospecimen services including receipt, processing, dispatch, and storage. Since 2018, we've supported over 120 research projects, including collaborations beyond the Westmead Research Hub.

Through this collaboration, our team have provided end-to-end biospecimen support to the CPG team, ensuring seamless logistics, high-quality sample processing, and reliable tracking. To date, we have processed over 850 whole blood samples - often in less than 30 hours - from participants in the Filipino and Vietnamese communities across NSW and VIC.
