What is the PrecisionGo Digital Platform?

PrecisionGo's Digital Platform is a centralised research infrastructure designed to support precision medicine projects from instrument output à publication-ready results. It brings together validated analysis pipelines, data integration support, and standardised reporting under a single, accessible framework, removing the technical barriers that typically slow biomarker discovery and translational research.

Precision medicine research is data-intensive by nature. A single VisiumHD experiment generates gigabytes of spatially resolved transcriptomic data; a cohort-level single-cell study can involve dozens of samples, multiple sequencing runs, and complex metadata. For most research groups, the bottleneck might not be the science itself, but everything that surrounds it. Data organisation, pipeline selection, parameter choices, quality control, figure generation, and report preparation collectively consume a disproportionate share of research time and are often repeated from scratch with each new project.

At WIMR, these challenges are compounded by the breadth and diversity of research activity. Groups working across virology, oncology, immunology, and neuroscience each face the same downstream friction, yet rarely share solutions. Institutional knowledge about what pipelines work, what parameters are appropriate for a given tissue type, and how to present results consistently remains largely tacit; held by individuals rather than embedded in shared infrastructure.

PrecisionGo's Digital Platform is a direct response to this. By establishing validated, documented pipelines for the core discovery technologies used across WIMR, and making them accessible to any research group, the platform converts individual expertise into institutional infrastructure. A postdoctoral researcher starting a Xenium project does not need to rebuild the wheel. A clinician-scientist planning their first transcriptomics study has a clear entry point. A group preparing a manuscript has consistent, publication-ready figures and outputs generated from a traceable workflow.

The platform is built around the technologies most commonly used in discovery research at WIMR and across the Western Sydney Local Health District. Validated, reproducible analysis pipelines are available for bulk RNA sequencing, single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and genomics, and associated data processing requirements. Each pipeline is documented, versioned, and quality-controlled, ensuring that results are consistent, traceable, and suitable for publication or downstream clinical use.

Researchers and clinicians can engage with the platform in two ways. For those who want a complete solution, PrecisionGo offers end-to-end project support: from raw data processing and analysis through to structured outputs and figures ready for manuscript preparation. For groups with existing analytical capacity, the platform provides modular access: plug into specific pipeline stages, use the data integration infrastructure, or draw on reporting tools as needed.

Clinical data integration is a core feature of the platform. PrecisionGo supports the linkage of molecular and omics data with patient-level clinical information, enabling the kind of well-annotated, cohort-level analyses that underpin robust biomarker discovery. Data handling follows strict privacy and consent standards throughout.

Beyond analysis, the platform includes a training and upskilling program through WIMR's Digital Research Skills Network (DRSN), ensuring research teams can engage effectively with their data, interpret outputs confidently, and design better experiments from the outset.
