🌟 Welcoming a Global Leader in Cytometry to PrecisionGo at The Westmead Institute for Medical Research 🌟
We were honoured to host Distinguished Professor J. Paul Robinson from Purdue University, a world-renowned expert in cytometry and valued member of the PrecisionGo National Advisory Committee, during his visit to Australia.
Behind every successful PrecisionGo project is a team of exceptional people.
Behind every successful PrecisionGo project is a team of exceptional people. Meet Dr Joey Lai, our Genomics Facility Manager, and Dr Brian Gloss, our Bioinformatics Facility Manager - together bringing over 20 years of combined expertise in genomics, single-cell, multi-omics, and spatial transcriptomics and bioinformatics.
💡 What makes PrecisionGo different?
PrecisionGo bridges the gap between discovery and clinical application — supporting researchers and clinician–scientists to move ideas from bench to bedside faster.
🔬 Decoding complexity, one cell at a time
At PrecisionGO, we know that discovering the right biomarkers requires more than just powerful pipelines — it requires the ability to see what's happening at the level of individual cells. That’s why the Westmead Cytometry Facility is such an integral part of our work.
🧊 Behind every breakthrough biomarker is a sample that made it possible
Without access to fit-for-purpose biospecimens, even the most advanced technologies can’t generate insights. That’s why the Westmead Biobank plays a critical role in bridging the translational gap, helping researchers go from discovery to diagnostics with confidence.
Exploring collaboration potentials with Cicada Innovations HealthTech Hub
We had fun today with Denise Burtenshaw from Cicada Innovations Health Tech Hub join us for a lab tour to learn more about PrecisionGo - it was delightful to spend some time this afternoon catching up about the latest innovations in genomics and cytometry! Thanks Denise!
🧠 From whole-body scans to molecular signatures - imaging makes it visible
At PrecisionGO, we’re building the infrastructure to power end-to-end precision medicine research, and imaging is a vital part of that puzzle. Our collaboration with Westmead Imaging and Preclinical Imaging gives researchers access to state-of-the-art capabilities for visualising biology in action, across scales and systems.
🧫 Seeing is understanding
At PrecisionGo, we're building the infrastructure to drive faster, smarter precision medicine. A vital part of that is our collaboration with the Westmead Histology Facility, which enables researchers to visualise the structure and pathology of tissues with exceptional clarity and care.
🚀 Precision medicine meets spatial transcriptomics at subcellular resolution!
At PrecisionGO, we absolutely love using our 10x Genomics Xenium Analyzer in our discovery pipelines, unlocking new frontiers in spatial biology. The Xenium platform brings subcellular resolution spatial transcriptomics to our precision medicine infrastructure, enabling researchers to detect and quantify hundreds of RNA targets directly within tissue sections, while preserving spatial context.
PrecisionGo at the international CYTO 2025 conference
Incredible proud to see two of our incredible team members - Dr Maggie Wang and Dr Suat Dervish - presenting their work at the international CYTO conference this week! Maggie and Sui are driving some of the most exciting advances in precision medicine technology here in Australia, helping to close critical gaps in our national research infrastructure.
Bioinformatics at PrecisionGo
Precision medicine generates vast and complex biological datasets, from genomics and proteomics to imaging and clinical metadata. But it’s bioinformatics that transforms this complexity into clinical insight. Without it, the promise of PM stays in the lab.
PrecisionGo at ISBER 2025 international conference
We were recently at the ISBERinternational biobanking conference in Montreal, sharing how our Westmead Biobank Facility led by Dr Ya Wang is a foundational part of the PrecisionGo project's screening pipelines, advancing the rapid identification of biomarkers of disease to support better patient outcomes. She's proudly standing with her poster alongside Dr Jane Carpenter, who we work closely with.
PrecisionGo at OzSingleCell2025
We're at OzSingleCell2025! If you're around, do check out our poster on developing spatial and single cell multiomics pipelines to advance precision medicine, and have a chat with Dr Joey Lai or Dr David Dawei Zheng!

BD Rhapsody at PrecisionGo
One of the new technologies that forms the end-to-end precision medicine pipeline at WIMR is the BD Biosciences Rhapsody, which captures and analyses RNA from individual cells, providing a detailed snapshot of cellular activity and gene expression.
Luminesce Alliance features PrecisionGo in latest article (thanks!)
Luminesce Alliance welcomes the launch in late 2024 of PrecisionGoR, end-to-end precision medicine pipeline available nationwide. It complements Luminesce Alliance precision medicine platforms capabilities, offering us the exciting opportunity to collaborate on paediatric precision medicine projects.
Cytek Aurora at PrecisionGo
The Cytek Biosciences Aurora brings innovative and cutting edge spectral cell analysis to PrecisionGO. Using spectral flow cytometry, Cytek Aurora detects a broad range of cellular markers with high accuracy, enabling a more detailed understanding of complex cell populations.
BD FACSDiscover S8 Cell Sorter at PrecisionGo
The BD Biosciences FACSDiscover S8 Cell Sorter is one of our cutting-edge technologies that is part of PrecisionGO's one-stop-shop precision medicine pipeline, available to all researchers and clinicians across Australia and ready for use. This advanced flow cytometer sorts and analyses thousands of cells in real-time based on their surface markers and internal features.
What is Precision Medicine?
Recent advances in research and technology such as genomic sequencing, bioinformatics, data mining, machine learning, and advanced imaging techniques, have revolutionised our understanding of diseases. Precision Medicine harnesses these tools to analyse an individual’s unique genetic profile and disease characteristics, enabling the development of personalised treatment regimens that offer the best health outcomes. This paradigm shift in healthcare moves away from the traditional one-size-fits-all approach and instead pioneers individually tailored medical treatments and protocols.
Read about how PrecisionGO is providing a dedicated facility offering end-to-end precision medicine pipelines available to researchers and clinicians to improve clinical care for Australians nationwide.
